UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 will be notified by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) tentatively in October, 2015 for the candidates who qualify the preliminary exam. UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2015 will be held tentatively in December 2015 and those candidates who qualify the Main exam will be called for personality development test and interview round, after which the qualifying candidates will be appointed as Civil Servants.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who wish to apply for UPSC Civil Services Mains 2015 must have qualified the preliminary exam. Other eligibility criteria are same as specified for the prelims exam:
• Candidate must be a citizen of India
• They must be between the age of 21 and 32 years as on August 1, 2015
• Candidate need to have a degree of any University or equivalent qualification
• Any candidate who has not completed the six attempts at the Civil Services Examination, but has not crossed upper age limit

Exam Pattern

The Mains exam will consist of written exam and personality test. The written exam will consist of:

Papers of qualifying nature:

Paper A – An Indian language selected by the candidates

Paper B – English

Papers to be counted for merit:

Essay (Paper I)

General Studies (Paper II-V)

Optional Subjects (Paper VI-VII)
